Te Hono closedown
It is with a mixture of gratitude and heartfelt reflection that we announce that Te Hono will conclude at the end of 2024.
Twelve years ago, Te Hono was founded with a vision: to advance New Zealand's food and fibre sector into a global exemplar. We have driven transformation towards value-added products and services, powered by consumer demand and innovation, benefiting both Aotearoa, New Zealand and the world.
This bold cause was championed by the private sector, supported by the public sector, and propelled by incredible partners, including ASB, AGMARDT, KPMG, MBIE, Māori Tourism, MPI, and NZTE. The diverse leadership and widespread participation have been truly inspiring.
After careful reflection and analysis, our Steering Committee has decided that Te Hono should come to a close. Attendance at events and the current investment climate has presented challenges to maintaining the momentum we need.
Sharing this news, we have been reflecting on the moments that have shaped us and the deep base of inspiration and aspiration that we have built.
We are immensely proud of the legacy we have built. Te Hono has united an alumni of 380 senior leaders, delivered seven “Bootcamps” at Stanford University, 21 events in New Zealand, the Kōrero & Kai networking series, and a regular stream of inspiration and best practices. We estimate that more than 500 initiatives trace their roots to the connections and capabilities fostered by Te Hono.
The gap that Te Hono leaves will be filled by those that we have inspired, carrying forward our shared values and purpose. We are confident that our spirit will endure as our alumni continue to push boundaries and strive for excellence.
As we step forward into a future inspired by this remarkable journey, we will take the time to celebrate all that has been accomplished and to pass the baton to others in our ecosystem who we know will continue to advance new opportunities for Aotearoa New Zealand’s food and fibre sector.
